Saturday 3rd September 2016 was a very wet and windy wedding day for Andrew and Jessica at Cripps Barn near Bibury.
What do you do when the heavens open and it pours with rain and you have strong winds against you on your wedding day? Well.....not to sound like a horrid photographer but you just get on with it and that's exactly what Andrew and Jessica did on their wet and windy wedding day at Cripps Barn. I spoke to a worried Jessica the day before the wedding as the weather forecast for her special day was horrid, so we had a chat about wellies, umbrella's and embracing the weather and luckily they did.
Jessica spent the morning preparing for the wedding with her bridesmaids at The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns. It was a lovely morning with everyone chatting, laughing and sipping champagne while getting ready. Just down the hall Andrew was getting ready with his groomsmen before heading to the bar for a drink or two before leaving and heading to Cripps Barn. Once Jessica was in her gorgeous dress and after lots of hugs, kisses and tears from the bridesmaids it was time for Jessica to head to Cripps Barn with her dad. Jessica travelled to Cripps Barn in style in her dad's classic Morgan.
The Bridesmaids walked down the aisle first leading the way for Jessica and her Dad, Jessica was greeted by a "wow" from Andrew as she walked towards him, both had huge smiles on their faces. The ceremony included two readings by a friend and Andrew's sister. Andrew and Jessica exchanged their weddings vows and rings in front of family and friends, with around of applause the newlyweds had a first kiss.... or two!
Andrew and Jessica greeted guests after the wedding before heading outside for photographs, the rain had eased and was a light drizzle, so armed with umbrellas we managed to photograph the bridal party and a few Bride & Groom portraits. We were just about to start family photos but the weather had other ideas and the heavy rain started again, luckily Cripps Barn is such a lovely venue with a lovely fireplace which made the perfect backdrop for photos.
The Father of the Bride was first up for the wedding speeches, followed by Andrews two best-men, then of course Andrew said a few words too. After the very yummy meal Jessica and Andrew chatted to their guests, time seemed to fly by and it was time for cutting the cake before taking to the dance floor for their first dance.
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hemming!
