We had lots of fun at Snowshill Lavender Fields August 2019 with Wendy House Flowers, Willoughby and Wolf and Model Becky Pinker. We spent the sunny afternoon at the lavender fields showcasing the Cotswold scenery, wedding dress, flowers and make up and we loved every single minute. Plus this was my (Carissa) first styled shoot as a Make Up Artist and i couldn’t of picked a better team!
The photo shoot only took four days to arrange and after lots of messages between the team the day had finally come and luckily the sun was shining! The Crown of Crucis near Cirencester was where we decided to get ready for the shoot, so Becky, Paul and I started our day there for Make Up. This was my first time being involved as a Make Up Artist on a shoot and i must say though i was a little nervous, i soon felt at ease while Paul took pictures and Becky was fabulous, we chatted throughout the application of Make Up. I soon felt the pressure of the timings when my Dad piped up “What time do we need to be at the field for?” luckily keeping to timings Becky was soon ready and we were on our way to the Lavender Fields.
We met Victoria from Willoughby and Wolf at a wedding fair many months ago and as soon as we saw her dresses we knew we just had to work with her plus she is a lovely lady! Willoughby and Wolf is a bridal boutique located in the Wiltshire town of Marlbourgh and they have a beautiful selection of designer wedding dresses. If your looking for your wedding dress, i can honestly say this boutique should be on your list to visit! I knew Victoria would have the perfect dress for this shoot and we decided on Valencia by Katya Katya London, an off the shoulder dress with a little sash belt sitting beautifully on the waist.
Once Becky was ready it was time to add the finishing touches, flowers. Louise from Wendy House Flowers crafted a gorgeous flower crown to match the bouquet. Becky’s hair was lightly curled and left to naturally flow, so the flower crown was a great finishing touch. The flowers featured copper, peach, green and gold tones which complimented the lavender perfectly. We didn’t want to loose sight of the flowers amongst the lavender and Louise smashed it because they just pop throughout the shoot.
We have worked with Louise from Wendy House Flowers many times on weddings and at wedding fairs over the years, plus we have ordered from her personally too on a few occasions. I recommend having a chat with Louise about your wedding flowers, she has a lovely shop in Lyneham, Wiltshire.
Make Up done, Dress sorted and flowers added, it was finally time for photos! We found a lovely spot in the field and Becky took direction from Paul. She smiled, she walked, she twirled and had lots of fun posing and what a great job she did, especially as it was a hot day! Paul took a selection of photos in the lavender field and then we headed to the wild meadow for just a few more.
